Projects
Welcome to my projects! Here's a glance at my UX process.
More updates to come :)
Close Knit: Weaving Together The Fiber-Arts Community
HCI Grad Student
UC Santa Cruz, Baskin Engineering College
Together with a group, we researched the Fiber-Arts community to find pain points among users with various skill levels. We created a high-fidelity prototype of Close Knit, a mentor-mentee application that provides resources and connections.
The research presentation can be found here.
Thematic Analysis for Survey Results
We gathered 300 survey results from members of the Fiber Arts Community, ages 18 - 72. We pinpointed major pain points in a few narrowed themes: cost, community, lack of supplies, etc. These became our areas of focus.
Our goal was to create an app to tie the community closer, share resources and collaborate.
Each team member created low-fi prototypes of a user flow (log-in, creating an account, setting up user profile, etc.)
We conducted user testing to receive feedback on our designs prior to moving on to hi-fi prototypes.
My contribution to the project included research, data analysis, and lo-fi and hi-fi prototyping.
Key learnings:
- most experienced crafters enjoy helping new comers
- beginners enjoy discussing with peers and more advanced crafters
- there was a need for a community hub
Designing for Access: Redesigning Uber's Safety Features
HCI Grad Student
UC Santa Cruz, Baskin Engineering College
In collaboration with a few classmates, we evaluated Uber's safety features and assessed if it exhibited proper trauma-informed design protocols. We made a few changes to their current app and designed new features to better align with these protocols. My contribution included a low-fidelity wireframe of new driver profiles.
The prototype can be found here.
Andy's Tacos: Local Street Vendor App
UX Designer
Google UX Certification Course
As part of the Google UX Certification program, I created a mid-fi prototype of a food vendor application.
The project presentation can be found here.
